Clinton is a close-knit community, but many local families are struggling to find affordable, reliable childcare that fits their work schedules. Too often, parents are forced to travel outside of Clinton—or piece together inconsistent care—just to remain employed.

We are working to change that.

First Presbyterian Church of Clinton has partnered with the Leadership Development Academy of Rock County and the YWCA Rock County to launch a before- and after-school childcare program for children in grades 4K–12 years old. Opening in September 2026, this program will offer families a safe, dependable, and local option—keeping children close to home and parents connected to the workforce.

To meet Wisconsin state licensing and safety requirements, the church facility must complete several critical upgrades before opening its doors. These include:

● Installation of perimeter playground fencing

●Creation of safe outdoor play surfaces

●Interior safety modifications required for licensed childcare programs

The total cost to complete these upgrades is $12,000.

These improvements are essential. They ensure a secure, nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and thrive before and after the school day—and they lay the groundwork for future expansion, including the long-term goal of serving even younger children in our community.

This project is more than a program.

It's an investment in Clinton’s families, workforce, and future.

With your support, we can open the doors to safe, local childcare—right here in Clinton.
