The Local Leaders will Remodel/Refurbish a room at the YWCA to make a better sensory space for the kids to utilize while parents are being interviewed.
Why is this project important? YWCA has an underutilized playroom that is mainly used for storage but has huge potential to create a better place for the kids while at the facility. This sensory space will help keep the kids entertained while at the Alternatives to Violence office. We want to improve the children's experience while at the YWCA.
Why now? The project was planned pre COVID and the budget needed to be focused on other areas during COVID. Our LDA team is focusing on the fundraising for the project which will allow the YWCA to focus their budget on other needs.
LDA - LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY: THE LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY WAS FOUNDED IN 2003 BY A GROUP OF PUBLIC AND PRIVATE-SECTOR LEADERS AND ORGANIZATIONS WHO SAW A NEED FOR LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT IN ORDER TO MAKE ROCK COUNTY A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE, WORK, AND PLAY.
