Almost 30 years ago, I was hired by the YWCA as the Medical Outreach Coordinator for the Alternatives to Domestic Violence Program. Over the next 5 years, I held several positions, including Legal Advocate and Community Relations Coordinator. During this time, I developed a life long passion to advocate and serve victims of violence. Today I am a medical social worker for Mercyhealth South Clinic Family Medicine Residency Program and an Ambassador for Walk a Mile in Her Shoes. In this 2022 event, I will walk with physicians, nurses, health care partners and their families to bring awareness of domestic violence in OUR community. Please help me to continue to offer survivors hope, safety, and support by referring those in need to the YWCA's all-encompassing programs. Just a small donation will go a long way to helping me meet my goal for YWCA Rock County.
