We know a lack of transportation is a barrier when it comes to retaining employment.
YWCA Rock County's Economic Empowerment Center not only works to help women find employment, but it also works to make sure they are able to keep their jobs.
By supporting YWCA Rock County's Give a Gal a Lift program, you can help remove transportation barriers.
Just like with the transportation assistance, we’ve seen the amazing things that can happen when our community comes together. It’s because of you, and this wonderful community, that we are able to provide our clients with the help they need. And with this pandemic, we know first-hand how needs can quickly shift.
When COVID-19 hit, we were all left scrambling to adjust to a new reality. And for the YWCA, we quickly realized the pandemic pushed our aging technology beyond its capabilities. Our staff stepped up, and in many cases, relied on their own personal computers, iPads and cell phones as they worked remotely to keep our critical programs operating.
The YWCA’s current computers are a decade old. They do not have the capabilities to conduct virtual meetings, such as forensic interviews for the CARE House, domestic violence survivor support groups or virtual staff meetings.
